Distributor Doctor was born from a need to provide top quality, accurately calibrated distributors, which were proving difficult to obtain from established sources.

The business was founded in 2007 by Martin Jay who previously worked for Crypton, the engine diagnostics manufacturer. 

The timely acquisition of a large inventory of original Lucas distributor parts, including probably the world's largest stock of advance springs, was the catalyst to make Distributor Doctor possible.

After a few years, the availability of the quality Lucas parts diminished as did the original Lucas stocks emerging from MOD auctions.  Hence we struggled to source reliable parts.  There was no future in building quality distributors and then having to fit low grade consumable components. 

As a consequence, in 2008, we embarked upon a long term re-manufacturing programme to ensure we had a supply of quality reliable ignition components.  These superb quality components are now supplied globally to discerning owners and trade suppliers.
